If you have very little living and outdoor space, Weber baby q100 allows you to grill veggies and meats for yourself and your guests. It always cooks evenly across the whole grate and requires much less time than using charcoal. It’s perfect for a smaller family of 2 to 4 people. You can even took it to the beach for a week. The good thing about this grill is the cast iron grate versus a stainless steel grate you see in other grills in the similar price range.

Rating:
Pros:
The grill surface is large enough for a family of four.
Heats up in appromitaley 4-5 minutes.
You can use it with a full-size propane tank or a small disposable one.
The grate is easy to clean with a wire brush, the drip pan is easy to replace
The good thing about this grill is the cast iron grate versus a stainless steel grate you see in other grills in the similar price range.
Cons:
The support ring for the portable tank (at least with the Baby Q) only accepted 14 oz. propane bottles- They are more expensive than the 16 oz.
The grill is somewhat sensitive to wind. A good breeze blowing through the sides causes a definite loss of temperature above the grill surface, under the lid.
There is only one flame control so you can’t shut one side down for convection cooking.
If you use cooking oil on it in the hope that food won’t stick, the grate is a bit of a chore to clean.
The grilling surface is small, but you can cook enough steak or burgers for 4 people.
This grill does not have the convenient fold-out wings of the larger Q grills.
Our Recommends:
Use aluminum foil on the inside, or else it is a bear to clean
Use the foil tray in the drip pan for the same reason
Keep the burner ring free from grease or it won’t light all of the way around
It does seem to go through gas quickly so either use an adapter for a large tank or have plenty of spare cannisters around in case you run out in the middle of a meal
I recommend getting the cover and stand, sold separately.
With the attachment hose you can hook up a large propane tank.
What do Real Customers Say About Weber Baby Q 100 Gas Grill ?
The grill surface is large enough for a family of four. Six 1/3 lb. burgers fit well enough; more and they are hard to turn. I’ve also been able to do two average sized tri-tips at once. The lid isn’t tall enough to allow a whole chicken. I was a bit wary of the 8K BTU rating at first, but the grill heats up just fine- it will do a wonderful sear on pretty much anything after 7-10 minutes of preheat. The heat is also very even, with the virtually whole grill surface usable. The best thing about the small burner is fuel efficiency; 5 lbs. of propane lasts all season (in SoCal!) at 1-2 uses per week. Please note that this is a single burner grill with a ring-shaped burner.
Last year when I bought this grill, over 100 people had written 4 plus star reviews. So I took their advice and bought this grill, you can see those reviews if you look for Baby Q. A year later I still love cooking on the Q. I cook for three plus leftovers. The heavy grate is fantastic, all the other grills had thin, flimsy grates. I love grilling with the Q, I can cook dinner in 15-20 minutes. I hooked mine up to a 5 lb propane tank. The five lb tank is the smallest tank you can buy, I can cook for a month on it.
For those of you wondering if this grill gets hot enough to cook steaks… well it definite does. I had looked into the more expensive unit like the Solaire Anywhere grill because of its infrared feature, but after reading about how it tends to burn and undercook everything, I opted for this Q-100. It surprisingly gets hot enough to seared 1.25″ rib-eye steaks due to the heat conductive iron-cast grate.
